Scientists of the Academy held the XXI International Scientific and Practical Conference "Thermal Energy: Paths of Renovation and Development."
The online event took place on October 16-17, 2025, at the Institute of Thermal Energy Technologies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
On October 16-17, 2025, the XXI International Scientific and Practical Conference "Thermal Energy: Paths of Renovation and Development" was held online at the Institute of Thermal Energy Technologies (ITET) of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The event was organized by the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, ITET NAS of Ukraine, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Dnipro University of Technology, Lviv Polytechnic National University, and the company "DELTIMA" (Poland).
The meeting was opened with a welcoming speech by the Director of ITET NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Natalia Dunaevska. Participants of the conference were greeted by the academic secretary of the Division of Energy and Energy Technologies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Academician Andriy Rusanov, as well as the co-chairs of the organizing committee of the conference: Acting Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Nuclear and Thermal Energy of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Olha Chernousenko, and the General Director of DELTIMA (Poland), Doctor of Technical Sciences Włodzimierz Przybylski.

The event brought together scientists, graduate students, and specialists from the institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, higher education institutions, industrial enterprises, and representatives of generating companies from Ukraine and Poland. More than 40 presentations were made. Conference participants discussed issues related to the energy sector's operations under hostile shelling, the loss of a significant portion of regulatory capacities, the restoration and repair of damaged facilities, improving the efficiency and environmental sustainability of existing thermal power installations, the use of a wide range of fuels, the application of renewable energy sources in thermal energy, and pathways for restructuring the Ukrainian energy sector according to current realities and Ukraine's European commitments.
