The director of the Thermal Energy Technologies Institute, Natalia Dunaievska, along with the scientists, introduced the guests to the history and current activities of the institute, demonstrating experimental setups for conducting scientific research aimed at developing the scientific foundations and technologies for effective and ecological thermochemical processing, energy use of traditional fuels, biomass, and other alternative fuels, and cleaning exhaust gases from pollutants. A fruitful discussion with the institute's leadership took place, during which the importance of the technical solutions developed and implemented at several thermal power plants and combined heat and power plants in Ukraine was emphasized, as these solutions are critically essential for enhancing the capacity regulation in Ukraine's energy system under martial law conditions. The implementation of such developments has become a vital factor in maintaining the critical infrastructure for energy and heating supply in Kyiv amid the absence of design fuels, spiking natural gas prices, and enemy shelling. Problematic issues and directions for the further development of the institute were discussed.
